We've all heard that "opposites attract" and there is no truer example than the duality of Black and White.

Yin and Yang

The Chinese philosophical concept describes how contrary forces may actually be interconnected or interdependent in the natural world.

This probably describes why on any busy morning - a Black and White outfit is the easiest formula for a put-together look.

This is still true at home, where Black and White is an 'evergreen' design trend that will never go out of style! Black and White Interiors have style in spades.

I have 4 tips for you on how to bring this style to your home!

1. Let the hierarchy of materials help you in your design decisions.

For example, in this kitchen...Walls - White, Wood - Black.

You can add on different elements, textures, and colors from there, but simplify that first decision by starting with some consistency!

2. Try a black accent wall.

This bold choice makes all the difference!

It's an easy way to add some dimension and can even highlight the other furniture pieces and materials in the room.

3. Add a metallic pop!

Metallics pop so well on Black so take advantage of this trend while it's hot!

A lamp, art fixture, picture frame, you name it! This element brightens any room and adds just the right amount of shimmer...

4. Play around with Black & White art.

If you don't want this color combination to be the dominant style in your space, then adding black & white art is a great way to incorporate the trend.

Try a gallery wall or a line of 3 paintings just like in this living room!
